Professor Samuel Kenan is head of MUSTOP and Chief of Orthopaedic Oncology at NYU Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases. He is a caring, confident, committed physician with a mission to serve those in need.
Professor Kenan was raised in Israel, where he completed his formal education. He received his medical degree from Hadassah Medical Center, where he completed six years of rigorous training in their residency program in orthopaedics and became Board Certified in orthopaedic surgery. In addition, Professor Kenan gained valuable hands-on experience in the areas of general surgery, plastic surgery, as well as pediatric orthopaedic surgery. In 1987, he completed a two-year fellowship program in orthopaedic oncology and joint replacement at the Hospital for Joint Diseases.

The same energy, determination, and genius that is reflected in Professor Kenan’s educational accomplishments is demonstrated in his medical practice. He is currently professor of orthopaedics at the NYU Medical Center and the Hospital for Joint Diseases. He has held numerous academic positions and has served as Chief of Orthopaedic Oncology at four renowned hospitals:

Professor Kenan has successfully treated thousands of adults and children with bone and soft-tissue tumors and related diseases, authored and co-authored over 100 publications, participated in important clinical studies, and has lectured locally, nationally, and internationally. He is an active member of the American Musculoskeletal Tumor Society, the International Skeletal Society, the American Orthopaedic Research Society, the International Society of Limb Sparing Surgery, and has been featured in the New York media.
